Welcome pilots, airport fans and aviation enthusiasts!

The Gillespie Pilots Association represents pilots, people and companies that love aviation. That includes FBO’s, maintenance shops, pilot and aircraft supplies, fuel and flight training. It also includes members of other aviation groups like AOPA, EAA, CAF, The 99’s, Women in Aviation, Air Group One – and many others including the San Diego Aerospace Museum. GPA is made up of members of all kinds of different groups that host airshows, fly-overs, barbecues and social gatherings as well as FAA safety seminars, memorials, aviation-themed banquets, hangar “garage sales,” and other fun stuff.

The reason we gather is camaraderie and fellowship. We share a common love for all-things aviation, from the fascination of someone going for their very first airplane ride - like the EAA Young Eagles, to pilots flying corporate jets, law-enforcement helicopters and fire suppression aircraft - to name a few. So we invite you to join us and enjoy the fun, fascination and focus we give to those learning to fly and those making a living flying. Our meetings bring everyone together the first Saturday of each month to educate, entertain and enjoy one-another. We share stories, update airport operations, discuss future projects on the airport, and talk about aviation safety. Sometimes our meeting agenda includes tales of some of our member’s fascinating adventures flying or a great experience they had on a cross-country or training flight. Our guest speakers often include county airport officials, air traffic controllers, EMT’s and the FAA. Coffee and donuts are free - so join us! See you at the airport soon…
